Sweaters & Knits
At World of Crow, our sweaters are made with special care. It all starts with choosing local wool from nomadic Gaddis who come to our village from summer to fall. They call this wool "desi oon," a mix of different Gaddi breeds.
Our hardworking women clean and sort the wool with great care. After that, the fibers go to our workshops for carding, a process that makes them feel nice and soft. When they come back to the village, where they use a special tool called a takhli to spin the wool by hand, making each piece special.
We care about nature, so we collect materials for dyeing from the orchards and fields around the villages of Himalayas, where they use local plants found in the mountains during different seasons to dye the yarns. The result is a beautiful collection of naturally colored yarns that we skillfully knit or weave into our sweaters.
Every sweater in our collection reflects the traditions and skills of our community, giving you something unique and warm. Check out the handmade artistry of these amazing women artisans at worldofcrow.com.
